Ertürk took his place in the world of design literature by designing the first luxury leather airline-approved (FAA-approved) Dog Carrier Bags. As one of the pioneers of the accessory trend for pets, the Dog Carrier Bags were coveted by many celebrities, creating a mass demand. Emre Ertürk, born in Istanbul, studied the academic arts at the International Schiller University and American College of Arts in London, visual arts and advertising at the Marmara Fine Arts Academy, and film education at the New York Film Academy. Ertürk opened numerous painting exhibitions in London, Istanbul, Ankara, and New York. Alongside his work, Ertürk has always valued giving back to the community and has participated in both national and international social responsibility projects, including the Tiger Time Foundation’s global awareness campaign. Along with Ertürk, many celebrities such as Susan Sarandon, Sir Paul McCarthy, Samantha Fox, Angelica Huston, and Jeremy Irons are among the other names in this global campaign.
Ertürk’s story is highlighted in the book “Giving Back” by the world-famous social activist Meera Gandhi, published in April 2012. Ertük is also one of the designers of the 2006, 2007 and 2009 Oscar ceremonies. In 2011, he designed the 500 piece leather dress adorned with real diamonds, a first for the Oscars. This specially designed dress worn by Demet Öger, the Oscar-winning film producer, was praised by American TV channels. The Emré NewYork bag and accessory collection has been compared with brands such as Gucci and Louis Vuitton by many foreign press organizations such as Vogue, NY Post Newspaper, Fox News, BBC News and featured in the 2014 Workman Handbags Calendar.
Today Ertürk continues to expand his portfolio while also working to evolve, grow and inspire through his designs. Given the recent global pandemic, Ertürk has taken this time of quarantine to reflect on the “new normal” lifestyle and has combined his creativity with his vision of what active life will look like to design and produce The Limited-edition Get Lucky collection.
